TOM CARDY: STEADYRACK BRAND AMBASSADOR AND MOUNTAIN BIKING LEGEND

His journey began in 2007 with a fervent passion for tricks and evolved into a mastery of freestyle riding. In this blog post, we will dive into the life of Tom Cardy and all his achievements!
Cycling history: what made you start cycling, how old were you, what was your first bike?
I started cycling when I was around 4 years old, going on bike rides with my family. It wasn't until I was about 12 years old that I realised you could do jumps and tricks. From then on, all I wanted to do was hit bigger jumps. I remember my first bike was a 12” Raleigh Jungle!
Goals and ambitions: what haven’t you completed that you absolutely want to in your lifetime?
I have been very lucky throughout my career to have achieved most of the things that I always wanted to achieve. I guess now I just focus on being the best version of myself and as I get older, maintaining a high level of riding for as long as possible. When it comes to content, I always strive to inspire people and continue to grow my channels.
Your top cycling memories/achievements?
I have made so many great memories and achievements throughout my cycling career. My key achievements would be any contest that I took a win or podium and hitting 100,000 Youtube subscribers! Some of my favourite memories would be riding my first shows on the Action Sports Tour - a show I grew up watching - landing my first backflip to dirt, and the whole experience competing on the world tour was quite surreal!
Any personal information that you are willing to share/what your life looks like outside cycling?
I am a huge fan of MotoGP racing. Having a career that is a combination of sports and media can be challenging to maintain a separate personal life. I would say that my job is a lifestyle rather than a separate part of my life but I love it and would not have it any other way.
As a result, this also means that most of my life is documented on YouTube. The only bits you don’t see are most evenings that I spend editing, as that would be boring to watch!
Your favourite bike?
My favourite bike is my haiku LYKE 11… A lightweight EMTB that does everything!
Favourite cycling track/location?
My favourite place to ride is my local bike park Twisted Oaks. However, I also have to say one of the best places I have ridden is Whistler in Canada!
